Founded in Nigeria in 1987 as a small trading firm, Deltastar has grown and expanded operations across the African continent, Asia and the Middle East. Keeping up with the rapid growth of the firm, we established our head office in Dubai which now controls all our operations.

The processes involved in trading in agricultural commodities are numerous as are the number of inherent and external factors affecting the quality of product delivered. The chain from farmer to consumer is fraught with such uncertainties. Deltastar is driven by a large and motivated ground workforce which follows the processes laid down by the firm to ensure that the final delivery to our clients are of the highest quality.

With the years of vast experience in the industry behind us, we have over time established a large and admirable portfolio of interest. Besides our agro trading products which cover export and import products we also have manufacturing products, which also go a long way in enhancing our trading process chain.

Exports

Raw Cashews from africa to India and Vietnam.

Raw cashew collected from farmers are segregated based on quality and stored in our well ventilated warehouses. We dry the raw cashew nuts collected from farmers and are dried for 6-8 hours in the sun before rebagging. This helps to enhance the storage life of the raw cashew and also helps to maintain quality. All goods are transported in sea worthy jute bags.

Sesame Seeds

We work on sesame seeds from 3 origins - Burkina faso, Senegal & Gunie Bissau. The seeds are collected and machine cleaned to get 98-99% purity. We quality has been much appreciated in the market.

Teak and timber from Africa & Myanmar

We participate in government tenders for timber and ship them in both in bulk and containers. Timber is brought to Tuticorin/Cochin and later sold on wholesale and retail basis.

Rubber Products

Our excellent network among international rubber manufacturing units aids our procurement of the best quality rubber products. Deltastar collaborates with several rubber firms in sharing the use of our infrastructure with them for processing of raw rubber. This collaboration allows us to enjoy sustainable and favorable relations with our network of rubber manufacturers. Our rubber trading operations involve procuring Crumb Rubber from Ivory Coast and trading to India and Malaysia.

Imports

Jute bags, Tyres, Building Materials

In the best interests of the trade and maintaining quality of imported goods, we also import the best grade jute bags for most reliable and durable storage.

Building materials like cement, plywood and other materials are imported by us, though this is not a frequent activity. We study the market and on finding opportunity we bring good quality building materials. Large truck tyres are also imported by us on getting confirmed orders.

Cement boards in UAE, Qatar and Africa

Cement Boards are one the best substitutes for wood and wood products. Identifying this as opportunity we have collaborated with NCL, India and taken our dealership of the boards in UAE, Qatar and Senegal. The boards are fire, termite and weather resistant and provide incredible strength.

Rice from Vietnam, India & Myanmar

Over the years rice consumption has gone up across West Africa. The increased consumption is met by imports along with increasing domestic production. We have been importing rice for our network of suppliers and farmers over the past years. This not only creates a fully integrated supply chain but also ensures that good quality rice is supplied among our suppliers. All rice taken delivery by us is inspected before taking delivery and made sure the quality standards are met.

Manufacturing

Warehouses and drying yards

Deltastar manufactures its own warehouses and drying yards at various locations to enable, monitor and sustain procurement and quality control at intensive granular levels. We also have separate warehouses built specifically for our suppliers – this provides for smooth operations of collection and drying during the trading season. Off season, these warehouses are re-used by them for generating domestic income.

Weighbridges

We are also in the process of installing weighbridges in all our locations worldwide to support our own procurement and also for leasing out to local collectors in the respective areas. Currently we have 4 commercial weighbridges established in various countries and we are looking forward to expand to other locations. Installation of weighbridges have helped in making business more transparent as well as easy for the traders and companies in respective locations.

Installation of Prefab houses

We have built more than 300 accommodation units in UAE with Bison cement boards. The accommodation units have been rented to the some of the best known contracting companies in the region. The design and installation has been done in collaboration with NCL Industries.

Timber & Cashew processing plant in India

We established our timber mill in 1980 and have been in the business for over three decades now. This mill is located in Pathanamthitta, Kerala, India and is one of the oldest in the region. We are slowly embarking on our journey to set up cashew processing units in Ivory Coast and Gunie Bissau. Though this is a challege, we are slowly putting in place necessary infracture to start manufacturing by 2023.

As a part of our forward integration we also have units for Cashew Processing in India. During times of high demand and requirement for cashew processing, we lease factories. However, we ensure that the best practices are followed regardless of where our materials are processed to maintain the Deltastar quality.

Drinking Water Plant

Water is life. Understanding the scarcity of quality bottled / drinking water , we started a full automated drinking water unit in Ghana. We were the first company to introduce RO technology in B A region of Ghana. The quality of water has helped us create brand value amongst the population. In line with our social responsibility program, we have been providing drinking water to the pediatric department of the hospital in the region

Water Tank Manufacturing

To complement our activities in Ghana and to generate round the year employment for our staff in Ghana, we ventured into manufacturing of water tanks. We manufacture 1000ltrs, 3000ltrs and 5000ltrs water tanks. Our tanks are made from 100% virgin LLDPE powder and we offer 10 year warranty for our tanks. Its the best in quality tanks available in the market.

Consultancy Services

With our expertise and experience in the field, Deltastar offers consultancy services for entrepreneurs interested in setting up plantations and plant nurseries. We also spread awareness about better practices for producing better crop and yield among the farmers in Africa. To this purpose we have prepared and distributed over 25,000 educational booklets to the farmers across Western Africa.

Our strong network of village warehouses, agents, trucks and motivated ground workforce empowers us to collect the best quality material from local farmers. We also have a time tested, strong and reliable network of suppliers, farmers and vendors. We hold these networks in high regard and constantly nurture these relationships which combine to provide the best services to our clients and allies.

Interactive Quality Control

To ensure transparency of our services, our clients are always welcome at Deltastar at origin or destination points to inspect the cargo to their satisfaction. We also welcome delegated third party inspection agents at destination/origination ports.

Camp Renting

We at Deltastar believe in providing comfortable and economical accommodation facilities to the hundreds of workforce employed in UAE. Having understood the difficulties faced by the workforce, we have built and rented out accommodation facilities to many companies in UAE. Prestigous organizations like Belleli Energy, AST Overseas, Essa Engineering, and many more have used our facilities over the past 5 years. We also undertake building of labor accommodation facilities for companies.

Commercial Weigh Bridges

Over the years we have come to understand the importance of transparent weightment of goods to the satisfaction of both buyers and sellers. We have built an extensive network of weighbridges which makes all purchases transparent and all bridges are certified by the respective authorities in origin countries.

Other services

We also offer products on FOB & C&F Basis. Our excellent network among shipping lines operators in different countries allows us to offer our clients services with lower shipping costs compared to our competitors.
